About the FBZHL

The FBZHL today

The Fortbildungszentrum Hochschullehre, abbreviated as FBZHL, is a central facility of FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and part of the ZeLLIT (Center for Teaching and Learning Research, Innovation, and Transfer). At the intersection of service and research, we improve the quality of teaching at the university through our offerings and develop/evaluate educational measures.

From tutors to professors, educators can enhance their educational competencies through our workshops, teaching consultations, or teaching observations. This enables them to efficiently plan and design lectures, seminars, or exercises, create and conduct competence-based examinations, and provide targeted guidance to students. Participation in our programs leads to the Certificate in Higher Education Teaching of the Bavarian Universities.

Through the Quality Pact for Teaching, we have significantly expanded our offer. In addition to the open seminar program and faculty-specific options, we provide qualification measures for tutors, an expanded coaching service, and publications on our blog, the Infothek Lehre.
